NLE Shortcut Cheat Sheet
Stop digging through menu items. Compare and search timeline keyboard shortcuts side-by-side across DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.
Timeline Navigation
Start or halt playback on the timeline.
Play backward. Tap multiple times to speed up rewind.
Stop playback.
Play forward. Tap multiple times to speed up fast-forward.
Nudge playhead back by one frame.
Nudge playhead forward by one frame.
Snap playhead to the next cut point.
Snap playhead to the previous cut point.
Zoom into timeline resolution.
Zoom out of timeline resolution.
Scale timeline to fit entire sequence length.
Basic Editing Tools
Switch back to main selection cursor.
Switch to cut tool to slice clips.
Add an edit cut on the active playhead position.
Delete selected clip and pull remaining clips to close the gap.
Delete selected clip leaving an empty gap on the timeline.
Toggle link sync between video and audio tracks.
Markers & Annotations
Place a timeline marker at the current playhead position.
Open marker dialogue to add name, details, or color.
Snap playhead to the next marker.
Snap playhead to the previous marker.
Delete selected marker from timeline.
